Chapter XJ
Chapter XJ, real name Jan Jünemann is a German trance producer known through tracks like 'Exhilaration', 'Resurrection' or 'Never Forget'. Music has been always an important part of his life. In 1999 he started to produce dance music on music makers. From 2001 his productions became more professional using a sequencer and VST Plugins, so he began to share his tracks on music-communities.

In 2003 he discovered the trance sounds that were played on the radioshow 'A State Of Trance'. He started to concentrate on this sound only and gained further experience in producing. A short time later he appeared for the first time as remixer on some releases, for example 'Lexwood - I love Trance (Chapter XJ Remix)', before in 2008 the first single "Exhilaration/Again" came out on Fenology Records. This release was already played by names like Armin van Buuren, Above and Beyond and many more. In 2009 the single 'Resurrection' was the 'Tune Of The Week' on 'ASOT'. Till this day he had several releases on different labels (Fenology, Monster Tunes, Vandit, Infrasonic, etc) which were always supported by famous DJ's.

Now it's time for an own radioshow. 'Arising Tales' is a set of the best of new releases in uplifting trance and will be released every month in a new episode. At the end of every show, you will hear an unreleased classic Chapter XJ track.

Q. How did you hook up with electronic music? What was your first experience with trance?

A. Since the dance tunes came out during the 90's I knew that EDM is something special for me. My first time I began to listen to trance from time to time, was in the mid of the 90's with tracks of 'Ayla' for example. 'Rank 1 - Airwave' was my first really favorite tune in the end of the 90's. Later in 2003 I was fascinated about the sounds from Netherlands, especially Outback, Menno de Jong, which already sounded very nice relating sound quality. So, shortly after I tried to produce these sounds also.

Q. What artists have influenced you over the years and why?

A. In my early years of producing trance there were productions by Airbase and Ferry Corsten for example, followed till now by artists like Nitrous Oxide, Super 8 and Tab, which influenced me. But I try to do my own sound. The most important things in trance music for me are originally melodies, wrapped in a matching quality Sound pool.

Q.Tell us about how you came up with your alias - Chapter XJ?

A. There is no big deal about Chapter XJ. I got the idea of Chapter X first, because I searched for a kind of mysterious name, like Trance and especially my Sound often is. To make it a little bit more personal I decided to tag the 'J' along, like the first letter of my name. You can see it as my personally chapter of life (which hopefully never ends) as I started to produce Trance Music.
